MCYC welcomes new churches wishing to partner with us and formally support our mission to develop tomorrow’s leaders from today’s children

Partnering churches will always provide prayer support for all that makes up the MCYC experience from the campers themselves to all the leaders and catering and shop staff; all the various committees working through the year to prepare for smooth-running camp weeks; and the site management who, together with lots of willing hands, ensure that the grounds, buildings and tents are in excellent condition for hundreds of lively young people to enjoy.

We recognise that all churches have different mixes (mixes that change over time) of age groups.   This means that whilst some churches have young people to go to MCYC as campers and have people willing to be leaders; this is not always the case.  MCYC fully acknowledges this and we hope that, whatever your situation today, you will join us and formally support our mission to develop tomorrow’s leaders from today’s children; whilst giving all campers a truly great week’s holiday!

In return, MCYC commits to support your Camp Rep and provide people from MCYC for any meetings you may have – to explain what we do/how we do it/why we do it.  We will also undertake CRB applications for partnering churches free of charge. By the way, MCYC is not restricted to the Merseyside area – in fact we are known for the warmth of our welcome to people who, though no fault of their own, have to live outside Merseyside.

Finally, many churches feel that having their youth workers go to camp as leaders is a superb way of developing your team. It is clear that over the years a large number of campers have gone on to become camp leaders and then on to roles within their churches.

  • What We Do

We have been providing holidays for children and young people for over 65 years. Since 1964 we have been running these holidays at Tyn-y-nant, our own dedicated site near Pwllheli, North Wales.
  • How we do it

Starting with the Saturday morning coach trips from various pick-up points, we organise age-related camps during the Whit half term and the summer holidays.
  • Support Camp

Hundreds of people support camp in many different ways. Could you be one of them?
