The Vision
Merseyside Christian Youth Camps (Camp) has a vision to provide young people from across Merseyside and the North West with fun and challenging holidays in a safe, Christian environment.
For over 60 years members of Merseyside fellowships have been giving time and finance to help that vision come to fruition with God’s guiding.
That same vision continues today with the need to provide those Christian holidays in a relevant way to young people today.
Expectations have changed since Camp first began and the need to provide modern facilities is vital to bring young people to Abererch to meet the Saviour who loves them.
Financial Help
Thank you for the support you have given in the past. Without your help Camp could not have been developed in the way it has. Thousands of young people have benefitted physically and spiritually from the efforts of our supporters over the years.
However, we need a continuous flow of financial support.
We aim to keep fees for young people and staff as low as possible to ensure as many as possible are able to go to a week of Camp.
Many of the Camp buildings are now in need of replacing with more modern facilities being provided.
Camp Redevelopment
MCYC has ambitious plans to carry out major redevelopment work at camp to provide first class facilities. Having completed a major kitchen refurbishment we are now looking to build a new 24 bed centrally heated accommodation unit. Further developments will be more accommodation units, a , sports barn, bigger recreation room, cottage refurbishment and a general upgrade of the infrastructure.
Your financial and prayer support is vital to us in this area. We are looking to increase the number of people gift aiding as we believe it will be a tremendous bonus to us showing a core support as we approach trust funds.
Gift Aid. The present system for Gift Aid was introduced in April 2000 and allows Camp to reclaim the tax you have already paid on that part of a gift you give.
In relation to Camp therefore, if you were to give a gift of £10, Camp could reclaim £2.80 from the Inland Revenue for your income tax or capital gains tax payments. (This figure will be reduced in 2008 as a result of lower income tax rates)
As long as you pay income tax or capital gains tax, Camp can reclaim this amount whether you give one off gifts or set up a direct debit for a regular payment.
There is no minimum donation limit under Gift Aid—you can give as much or as little as you want. Everything we receive helps us to achieve our objectives for Camp.
Please fill in the form below if you wish to help.
Prayer Partners
However much expectations have changed over the years, prayer has been and still is vital to the work of Camp. Only by coming to God to seek His will and blessing for Camp will there be any fruit.
We would love you to take time to prayer with us for that work and there are two ways you can help.
Firstly, Camp Management Board members make a point of spending time in prayer at lunchtime every Friday.
Will you join us in prayer to remember to praise God for His goodness to Camp and to pray for the continued needs of the young people and staff who attend Camp, the organising and running weeks of Camp and all that goes on behind the scenes to maintain the site.
Secondly, if you would be willing to become a prayer partner, please contact us and more information will be sent to you.
There is no financial cost to you in becoming a prayer partner, only your time and commitment.
Thank You.
Please download a form and help if you can.
